National Panel

To support efforts to implement comprehensive processes for gathering and feeding back information to continuously improve service performance, and the general national health policy directions such as those arising from the COAG National Partnership on Hospitals and Health Workforce reform, the National Mental Health Information Development Expert Advisory Panel (NMHIDEAP) has been established to provide clinical and technical advice to the Mental Health Information Strategy SubCommittee (MHISS) on issues and priorities that guide the development of the national mental health information agenda.

MHISS identified the need for for common, cross referenced recommendations to ensure steady progress of this agenda and determined that a national panel would be established to provide advice on mental health implmentation issues within organisations, services and teams across the four major population specific areas. The membership of the NMHIDEAP comprises an independent chair, plus the chairs and deputy chairs of the four population specific advisory panels, consumer and carer representatives, invited experts, and representatives from AMHOCN, the Department of Health and Ageing, the Private Mental Health Alliance and New Zealand.
