NT Workshop - Fine tuning the Child and Adolescent signal: the collection and use of clinical information in mental health

The National Mental Health Strategy has seen significant investment in improving the collection and use of clinical information in mental health. This has seen the introduction of a suite of standard measures to clinical practice along with the collection of a range of clinical, service delivery and demographic information. This one day work shop, being held 9:30am – 4:00pm at the Holiday Inn, 116 The Esplanade, Darwin, will focus on the use of this information to inform clinical practice and service developments.
The focus of this workshop will be Child and Adolescent but reference to Adult and Older Persons Services will also be included.
Through the use of case examples and demonstration during this workshop participants will explore:
- The technical aspects of standard measures in clinical practice;
- Use of standard measures for collaborative care planning and the process of clinical review;
- Using the SDQ to support consumer, carer and clinician collaboration;
- The development of recovery orientated, outcome focused services;
- Using aggregate data to evaluate service delivery and support service development;
- Reporting organisational performance and benchmarking; and
- Future developments in clinical information.
